Week 10 Blog, due Sunday, November 3rd, 2013 by 11:00 pm

We took our Unit 3 test on Thursday.  For this week's blog, you need to do reflect on the test and how well you feel you did.  Was this test easier or harder than Unit 2?  What concepts or questions are still confusing or difficult?  Did you attend tutorials?  If so, do you think it helped?  Anything else you want to say or comment on that has to do with the test?  Remember, keep it friendly and scholarly, no texting language.  In order to receive full credit, you must post an original comment and reply to one other person's comment.  If you have trouble posting to blog site, send me your comment and reply by email to physicswithego@gmail.com, through the aldine web site, or post them on edmodo.com.  Happy blogging!

  1. I think i did really well. I didn't experience any confusion. I knew what I was doing; I feel pretty confident about my test grade. I think this test may have been slightly easier than Unit two, but that's my opinion. The homework and classwork helped me prepare for this test. I hope I got an A!

    1. I agree that the review was a big help and going to you third period helped because Gustavo, Joe, and Ana helped me understand and broke it down for me. Thanks Guys!

  3. I am pretty sure I did better on this test than the previous, but I am not sure if I passed. I believe I over thought questions and what equation goes with what question. I get the graphing, but my only problem is what equation to use on each question.

    1. I also understand the graphing, but get confused with the equations as well.

    2. Yeah I have the same problem here. When I got help the equations made sense, but once I had to do it on my own it wasn't so easy.

  4. I feel like I did better on this test than on the first one we took although I did get stuck on a couple of problems. I attended a few tutorials which helped me a lot with understanding the graphs much better. I hope to have gotten a much better grade on this test than I did on the Unit 2 test.

    1. The tutorials are really helpful if we attend which i did only once and that's why i dont think i did quite well on the test

    2. I agree lorena afterschool tutorials are really helpful. even though I didn't stay I did some of the review they did afterschool and it really helped

  5. For this test feel as if i did okay. It wasn't harder and it wasn't easier than the first test. It was the same but i do wish i would have had more practice of word problems. Still the graphs confused me.I dont think i did so well on them. I went to tutorials one day and you where there. There where students there and asked them for help they helped me some what. I Also when i couldn't attend your tutorial i went to other teachers for help its okay. Hopefully the next section gets easier and i go to tutorials more often.- luceromunoz

    1. I also think that both tests were of equal difficulty. Plus, I sometimes use calculus to help me with graphing.

    2. Yes i hope the next section gets easier and i will also go tutorials to get that extra help i need.

    3. Hopefully the next Unit of Physics does not have to deal with graphs. Because there is something about figuring out a graph, and the way the diagonal line moves flusters me. Then when it asks you to find both V-T and A-T, I felt I wasn't prepared and was overwhelmed by the sheer knowledge of me not knowing how to face those types of problems. In that given situation.

  6. The Unit 3 test was a great evaluation of our learning, thus far. I also feel as if I did really well on the test. I believe the Unit 3 test was just like the Unit 2 test, of standard level. I feel as if I understand the material really well. I really don't have any questions over the material we've covered, and no, I did not attend tutorials. The test review was a great preparation assignment.

    1. I agree. I feel like the review was all I needed to be fully prepared for the test, and it really helped.

    2. I agree with you I think that both tests were of equal difficulty but the unit 2 test was slightly easier if not counting the comparison between the two lines on the unit 3 test.

  7. Well I feel as if I was prepared for this test more than the first one.The only problem I encounter was knowing what equations to use.I attended tutorials and got help from my classmates.I struggle with what equations to use as well when I get help it all makes sense, but when I had to do it on my own i'm a mess. But the review and worksheets did help a little.

  8. I think that i did better on this test than the other one even though i was stuck on some of the questions. Some of the questions were easier, but i still think that i did not do that well.

  9. Finding what equation to use on the last 3 question really messed me up. I think I got the 1st & 3rd one right but the second one was just confusing. Over all I think I did fairly well and passed....i hope >_\

  10. I hope I did well but I was really confused on how find average velocity in a velocity time graph. The review on edmodo really did help and I hope I I didn't do any silly mistakes

    1. I was also confused about that certain question.. :/ I tried re-arranging some equations to find it

    2. This confused me as well. Hopefully I can stay for tutorials and ask Ms. Ego to address this.

    3. Yes, the review was a lot of help!! & I as well think silly mistakes got me:(

  11. I think I did fairly good on the test. What really confused me was the question on the back of the test. I completely went blank on those last few questions but after a while I guessed and moved on. I hope I passed...

    1. We should have a lot more time on our hands now to really understand everything now though.

    2. I feel uneasy about those questions too. I had to mix up the equations to get some of the answers so I hope I didn't make any silly mistakes.

  12. I don't feel so confident on this test. The graphs really confused me a lot. I'm really having trouble on understanding them . I hope I did good so my grade won't drop.

    1. Well now that marching season is over. I'm sure you can stay afterschool for tutorials and hopefully get your grades up where they need to be. Because am going to start doing that now.

    2. Estefany relax i'm sure you did ok you're a smart person.

    3. Same here now that marching season is over all the stress will die down and we can go to tutorials.

  13. I felt more prepared for this test than for the last one. The review helped me a lot. I had a bit of trouble on some of the kinematics questions, but I think I did ok overall. Hope I passed :3

    1. Same here Ana I actually studied for this test. Using the review that Ms. Ego gave us and also looking through my journal.

  14. I thought Unit 3 was a little easier than Unit 2, probably because I stayed for tutorials and did my review. I have minor difficulties when it comes to the velocity graphs, and the test was alright. I thought the kinematic questions were pretty easy due to the formulas being on the test. Hopefully nothing to surprising comes up.

    1. I thought the test was alright as well. I agree with the fact that the kinematic questions were easy since the equations were provided for us. Since staying for tutorials seems to be helping you, i think i will also start staying for that extra review.

  15. I thought that Unit 3 was just a little harder than Unit 2. However, the mathematics and graphing isn't what I found more difficult. I thought that understanding what to do to find the answer was the hardest part about the test. I feel fairly confident about this test. If Unit 4 is even more challenging, which it most likely will be, I will probably stay for tutorials to help me out and ensure that I make an A on the test.

  16. I felt more comfortable with Unit 3 because wet took notes on kinematic equations and on how to interpret graphs. The test review was also helpful, but there were a few word problems that i had trouble on. Hopefully i passed the test, i was confident on most of the questions except for a few towards the end of the exam.

    1. Same here hope you did good and the last section of the test gave me some difficulty. we just need to keep on studyinh.

  17. I felt more comfortable with the graphing part of the test than i did on the unit 2 one but still felt uneasy about the kinematic equations. The review did help at some points of the test. Hopefully I scored better than last time but I will start attending tutorials.

  18. I felt more comfortable with this test on with graphing part since I actually understood everything but the second page on the back was kinda confusing since I hadn't reviewed those type of questions, but I feel i did a bit better than last time.

  19. I think I did okay honestly. I felt pretty good about it. My friends and tutorials helped me a lot. They cleared up a lot of my confusion and found ways for me to find many of the topics easier. I felt better prepared my unit 2 test though, but hopefully I get around the same grade. If anything, my only issue would be over-thinking some of the problems.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That probably seems to be a reoccurring issue when someone tackles on a problem. The over-thinking causes a person to linger on a specific question for too long and even when done, the result is one with doubt.

  20. I found this test harder than Unit 2. I felt really confident up until the back of the last page. Those problems really confused me. I had trouble changing up the equation to find out what it asked for. After those 3 questions I did not feel comfortable about the test at all. I will definitely be doing extra credit and staying for tutorials to bring my grade up.

  21. I’m pretty sure I did fine, there really wasn’t anything I struggled with in the test except for the simple motion maps; I never did like them. It might be unusual but I didn’t encounter much difficulty throughout the test, I understood what was being asked and I am sure that I answered well. Still I wouldn’t care to admit that the studying paid off since I was able to prepare myself for the type of questions that I saw on the test.

  22. I feel as if i will receive a low grade on the test, i spent too much time on one subject that i completely forgot the others regardless of the simplicity, but of what i did study i found to be really easy. I am still confused on the motion maps and i know i am not the only one. I did understand what was being asked i just did not remember how to respond.

    1. I also got too carried away with some things and ended up forgetting to do a section of the test because i was in such a rush.

  23. Honestly, I feel as if i did worse on this test than the previous one we took. i'm not sure why, but i didn't really prepare as much for this test than i would have liked. I feel like i did pass, however, i don't think i got an A on the test. Although i do understand a decent amount of the concept, i think i will begin to attend tutorials and do the extra credit in order to fully understand the concept.

    2. Well I don't really remember what was on the test but i do remember that i didn't answer two of them on the back. I know one of them was about an object bring thrown at a certain height.I didn't attend tutorials and when i was taking the test i wished that i had. What really helped me was how you had those examples of the different graphs on the board.

    3. Joe you are no longer allowed to play jenga, scrabble, dominos, chess, checkers and/or any other game in 3rd period. You shall study to improve along with me and guillermo. We got this.

  26. For me the test was kind of in the middle because I attended tutorials. However I was still confused with some parts of the test because I over thought questions that I think about right now were easy. mainly the formula and plugging in the numbers with it. I'll keep on going to tutorials till I get the hang of these questions and be good against them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. For me the test was somewhat easy, but the only part that probably got me was the part in which we had to compare lines A and B by looking at the velocity vs time graph, because I had trouble finding the average velocity using the velocity graph instead of position.

    ReplyDelete
  28. i believe i did good in the test, i had a little trouble with the velocity and acceleration graphs but other than that i believe i did better than the unit 2 test i did not attend tutorials but i believe the daily lessons in class helped thank you ms.ego.

  29. The test was alright, the only part I needed practice on was on the graphs. I believe I did well on the test but I can always improve.

  30. I believe I didn't do so good on the test, I struggled a little on everything. I really need help with graphs and motion maps especially on the calculations . Also the 3rd period class is helping me out as well. Thanks Mrs. Ego for helping me out to this 9th weeks.

  31. since this is a late blog post i know i did better than most students in my class having scored a low b. but i didn't do better than the previous test. i need to start being real accurate with the equations i use on which problem. also i need to not think too hard on simple questions causes those are the ones i missed.

  32. I know I did good but at first I had the lowest grade in the class

    ReplyDelete
  33. I had some trouble with finding the instantaneous velocity but with some practice I'll be able to get it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I found this unit 3 test to be more difficult than the unit 2 was, i had some trouble with poblems such as finding the distance an object took to accelerate from a given acceleration to another acceleration. Other than that not much.
